Modern Alariel and Adonia

Concept art that went horribly right for the implementation of two medieval characters into a modern day, fantasy/superhero-genre setting.

The two characters are Alariel (Whom's evil, medieval version can be seen in my gallery) and Adonia Reece, who is her mother. It was interesting coming up with how she should look, since I never drew her before, and hadn't given too much though to what she might have looked like or acted like. Over all, I'm very pleased.

Alariel was easy to figure out, as she seem to almost design herself. Compared to her cruel, greedy, slaughter-loving self, this version however is a complete saint; pretty much her as a teenager before she chose to join the order of the Shadow Lord, Dread Knights, and if her mother still lived. In this variation, she's extremely social, playful, and a pet-hoarder who compulsively buys anything she thinks she might one day ever use for any kind of animal, no matter how unlikely it may be. XD

Her mother, Adonia, is a striking contrast. She's harsh, gritty and coarse from years of slavery and mistreatment, which she suffered under for decades, being the long-lived creature she is. She's aggressive, irritable, but very maternal and compassionate. I suppose an angry mother bear would be a perfect example. XD lol. Alariel gets her hoarding ways from her mother, who tends to be possessive about absolutely anything she owns, since most of her life she never had anything, and tends to angle her hoarder habits to rescuing and helping mistreated supernatural or inhuman creatures.

Their last name is Reece, due to the fact Adonia recently married a man named Viktor Reece, a vampire who runs his own illegal medical clinic in a poor and unwanted part of a cult-owned city, tending to the denizens who can't afford hospital care. Alariel loved him to death, readily accepting him as her father, since her's was a cruel man she never met, who obviously wasn't worth mentioning. >>

I shall shut up now, there's a limit somewhere as to how much someone should stick in an artist comment, I'm sure... XD Enjoy!
